Frequently asked questions

Can I ship a commercial game on the free tier?

No. The Community tier is for personal projects, game jams, and prototypes. Commercial releases require an Indie or Studio licence.

What counts as a 'commercial' release?

Any release where you receive money β€” paid downloads, in-app purchases, ad revenue, crowdfunding, or publisher advances.

Do I pay per seat or per project?

Per seat. One licence covers one developer across all their projects. A studio with five developers needs five seats.

Is there a perpetual licence option?

Not at this stage. We plan to introduce perpetual options once the engine reaches 1.0. Subscribers will receive preferential pricing.

What happens to my game if I cancel my subscription?

Games already shipped under a valid licence continue to be distributable. You cannot ship new commercial builds after cancellation without an active licence.

Can I try Indie before subscribing?
